Sandblasting in Calgary

Back to clean metal, ready for what comes next.

Overview

Sandblasting overview

Professional sandblasting to remove rust, old paint, scale, and contaminants, creating a clean surface ready for coating or painting.

Sandblasting is the fastest, most thorough way to strip a surface back to clean substrate. We blast to the cleanliness and profile your coating system needs, with containment to keep the work area under control.

Benefits

Why invest in professional sandblasting.

  • Removes rust & old coatings

Strips rust, mill scale, failed paint and contaminants in a single pass.

  • Creates an anchor profile

A roughened surface the next coating can grip for long-term adhesion.

  • Reveals hidden damage

Pitting, cracks and weak spots become visible before they are covered up.

  • Faster than hand prep

Large or complex surfaces are cleaned far quicker than grinding or wire brushing.

  • Longer coating life

Proper prep is the single biggest factor in how long a coating lasts.

  • Controlled & contained

Masking and containment to protect surrounding areas and equipment.

FAQ

Common questions.

Have a question that isn’t covered here? Call us at (403) 464-2465 or send us a message.

What can be sandblasted?

Steel, cast iron, many other metals and concrete can all be blasted. Common jobs include structural steel, trailers, truck frames, equipment, tanks, wheels and railings.

Will sandblasting damage the surface?

Not when it is done correctly. We choose the media and pressure to suit the material, removing coatings and corrosion without harming sound substrate.

What blast media do you use?

It depends on the job. Different abrasives suit different substrates and profile requirements. We will recommend the right media for your project.

How do you handle dust and debris?

We use masking and containment appropriate to the site and clean up spent media when the work is done.

Should the surface be coated right after blasting?

Yes. Freshly blasted steel can start to flash rust quickly, so we recommend priming or coating soon after. We can handle both so there is no gap.
